Philippe Bietenholz is a Berlin-based designer whose work merges furniture design with influences from digital culture, retro-futurism, and fictional worlds. His design methodology builds on established principles of furniture and interior design, while consciously expanding them to reflect the aesthetic language of a digitally shaped generation. Rather than rejecting tradition, his approach integrates contemporary digital motifs into physical objects, creating a forward-thinking yet grounded design language.
At the core of his work lies a deliberate balance between the physical and the digital. Philippe views this convergence as essential to a contemporary design practice — one that represents the icons and visual codes of a still-young digital culture while remaining relevant well into the future. By transcending conventional boundaries of furniture design, his work speaks not only to design insiders but to a broader, more diverse audience, ensuring emotional accessibility and cultural longevity.
His aesthetic is defined by vibrant, joyful forms and smooth, futuristic lines. By infusing objects with character, Philippe transforms furniture into playful companions — pieces that invite emotional connection, self-expression, and a sense of presence in everyday spaces. Technology plays a central role in this philosophy. He believes adaptive production methods such as 3D printing will continue to reshape the furniture industry, enabling greater versatility, experimentation, and decentralized production models.
Born in 1995 to a Peruvian mother and a Swiss father, Philippe grew up in Berlin, where cultural diversity profoundly shaped his artistic identity. Influenced by street art and 3D graffiti, he pursued industrial design and developed strong expertise in 3D modeling and augmented reality. Viewing design as a bridge between individuality and global connectivity, he embraces cross-cultural and digital influences to create emotionally resonant objects that reflect — and actively shape — the evolving relationship between physical and digital worlds.
